Saturday, April 25, 2009, 3:00 pm

We spent the morning and early afternoon preparing for our Bon Voyage party which began at 3 pm. We had been hoping for a nice day so that we could hold the festivities in our big garages, but the weather didn’t cooperate so we went to Plan B and set up the Clubhouse for the party. We were surprised and gratified by the number of people who were able to come by and spend time with us! It was a very nice little gathering. After the guests departed and family remained, we picked up the place a bit and then ordered some pizzas.

Oh we can't wait to hear all about the days aboard the boat. May you find harbors of healing and enjoy the vessel of freedom that will provide so many thoughts. Some say the best feeling is having nowhere to go and nowhere to be as long as you have the love of your life at your side. If you get a chance play the song Boats by Kenny Chesney one day at sea for me my heart would thank you. I spent 2 weeks aboard the William H. Albury a 56' foot schooner and it was there where I fell in love with the sea. I had planned a trip to Costa Rica for 6 months and turned the trip into two short weeks because I met Alicia and missed her too much to stay away. Now my home is with her. Where that takes us, we'll let you know but left a piece of my heart at sea out there so say hello from time to time for me. I hope one day we can sail together and I can share with her a similar experience. We are glad to hear that you will be keeping a blog when you find the time to write. We will be there in spirit and we shall say a prayer for your long journey ahead. Thanks again for coming to the wedding and assisting us on our special day. Now this is your turn for fun, stories to last a lifetime.

Enjoy and Via con Dios!

It was great to catch you just as you were pulling out of your driveway.

Now, the adventure truly begins.

Bon voyage.

I am impressed that two people who grew up surrounded by a sea of corn and soybeans are ready to sail 6,500 miles on the ocean, Great Lakes, and major rivers.

I salute you … Captain G and 1st Mate Mo.

You mentioned Gale’s concern that the contents of your 10 foot truck may not your 34 foot boat.

Buena Suerte.

We look forward to your arrival this summer at one of Chicago’s marinas.

If we can do anything for you, let us know.

Love,

Brian & Lin

It all sounds so exciting. Maybe you need to take Oxford as a friend for Lucy. Bon Voyage...
