Saturday, April 23, 2011 – Bon Secour River, ICW mile 150.5, near G9 and R10 buoys

We left the anchorage at Perdido Key at 8 am with a mostly sunny sky and winds from the SSE at 10 mph and a temperature in the mid-70’s. Just before noon, we docked at Lulu’s Restaurant near Orange Beach, Alabama, to have a couple of beers, share a sandwich and listen to some live music. Our evening anchorage was only five miles from Lulu’s and the singer was quite talented, so we decided to spend the entire afternoon relaxing here and enjoying the music.

By 5 pm, we thought we’d better head to our anchorage. Our guidebook indicated that we should travel a few miles up the river to get to the favored spot; however, since the night was calm and there wasn’t any weather predicted, we found a wide spot out of the channel and dropped the hook at 6:15 pm.
