We had invited Todd and Brenda over for brunch so we could share the fresh tomatoes Jill and Tim Argie had given to us back in Galesburg. BLTs were on the menu and the tomatoes were very tasty, indeed! We also pulled out our last piece of “Smith Island Cake” and everybody got to savor the sweet treat. 
Shortly after 1 pm, both Blue Heron and Life’s 2 Short left Smith Island. We were all crossing to the western shore; however, L2S was continuing on a southerly route while BH was going up the Potomac River to visit Washington, DC. We traveled 15 miles and anchored in the Little Wicomico River just before 4 pm. Todd and Brenda stopped for the night in Deltaville, VA. They were looking forward to meeting Todd’s parents at the Dismal Swamp Welcome Center on October 2nd where they would meet up and cruise together down to Elizabeth City.
