Maureen spent a lot of time with computers today. The virus software for the new computer didn’t seem to be functioning properly. Not only that, it was still necessary to follow up with Dell to get our replacement hard drive mailed to us which took a couple of hours to sort through. While Maureen worked inside, Gale worked outside. At 3 pm, we borrowed the courtesy vehicle to drive back to Best Buy once more and trade out our virus software CD for one that would work.

Upon our return, we felt like taking a walk over to Turner Marina, adjacent to Dog River Marina, to look up Don and Alice of Ally’s Cat. Last evening, Don had stopped by to say ‘Hello’ so we knew they were next door. We also knew that they were thinking about leaving tomorrow morning and had asked us to travel with them.

Turner Marina is where we first met Nancy and Ken Heisler, our friends from Toronto, and where we saw our first Gemini sailing catamaran when they invited us aboard their Gemini, Skylark. That was two years ago this month. During that same visit, we also met Mark Mills who was originally from Mason City, Iowa – ten miles from our home in Clear Lake. We were very surprised when the couple who showed up at Don and Ally’s boat while we were there visiting turned out to be Mark and his new bride, Anna. At the time we talked to Mark two Novembers ago, he was “head over heels” for this woman he had recently started dating and now they were living happily together on their new boat, Arianna.

After finishing up a tentative plan for tomorrow’s journey, we bade everyone goodnight and walked back to enjoy the sunset and our dinner aboard Blue Heron.

Guess I'll just have to suck it up and try to live your adventures vicariously through your blogs now that I found your site. Hope all is very well shipboard. Just work and getting ready for winter here! My latest adventures....? Stealing corn from the fields to feed my squirrels, a terrific Haloween costume party at the Surf, and joining Plenty of Fish an internet dating service! hahahaaha
