Boot Key has what they call a “Cruiser’s Net” every morning at 9 am on marine VHF channel 68. It is similar to the net we listened to up in the North Channel this summer without the news and weather but with some added features such as “Buy, Sell, Trade.” It was very informative and we heard that yoga would be offered at 10 am. We packed up our yoga mats, grabbed water and participated in the class held at the marina. Jessica, the leader, was a practitioner of Bikram yoga or the “hot style” and took us through the Bikram series of poses. It felt good to stretch our muscles.
After yoga, Maureen stayed on shore to do some computer work while Gale took the dinghy back to pick up our waste engine oil for recycling, grab the garbage and bring back water jugs for refilling. When he returned to the marina, we walked to Home Depot in search of the smaller garden-type solar lights (no luck). From there we continued onward and stopped at Kmart and Publix for a few items.
After the shopping trip we dinghied home to drop off our purchases, change clothes, leave Lucy and dinghy back to the marina for the weekly “Meet and Greet Potluck.” We didn’t realize there were so many ways to prepare rice!! We enjoyed meeting the cruisers, ate more than we intended to and were back on the boat by 7 pm.
