As we were pulling up anchor, Dave from Cloverleaf came by in his dinghy to drop off a couple of paperback books that Bev had recently read. What a nice thing to do! We bid them goodbye on our way out of the anchorage, “until we meet again.”
Annapolis was where we bought Blue Heron two years ago so we were very excited to “relive” the journey from Annapolis to Delaware City when we moved the boat in June 2008. We only had three days to cruise at that time because Gale was still working and had only a certain amount of time off. Those were the days!!
Our plan was to head for Tolchester Marina where we spent our first night out on the boat, June 7, 2008. When we were about one mile from our destination, our friends Todd and Brenda of Life’s 2 Short hailed us on the marine radio to say that they were going to be at the free dock in Rock Hall tonight. We had passed Rock Hall about five miles ago but had no problem turning around and meeting up with them. They had been on the Chesapeake all summer long and we were hoping to be able to spend some time together. Life’s 2 Short arrived at the dock only moments before us. There we met some new friends, Bill and Ana, who cruise on Knot Tied Down. We remembered seeing their boat at Bonita Bill’s in Ft Myers Beach last winter.
Bill and Ana had a spaghetti dinner cooking for themselves and for Todd & Brenda and graciously invited us to dinner as well. We brought an hors d’oeuvre and passed the evening visiting and laughing with our cruising pals.
