The afternoon was devoted to exploring the Calvert Marine Museum. We learned about the cultural history of the region, the geological and evolutionary history, and the development of the fishing industry. A very interesting tour was of a restored lighthouse. On this beautiful day it was fun to imagine what it must have been like for the families who lived in these structures. During a storm, however, it probably would have been a very scary place to be!
