The marina has a day-use dock where you can tie up and walk to town for provisions. This dock makes it very easy to use either Blue Heron or Baby Blue (the dinghy) to go to shore for an hour or two. The water in Port Washington harbor is a lovely turquoise blue and is great for bathing and swimming—that is, if it is warm and sunny; otherwise, the cold water chills to the bone.
Bob, Susie, Phil and Donna arrived from Des Moines, Iowa, today. Gale was napping on the boat when he heard them calling his name from the harbor breakwater. The four of them are staying aboard Blue Heron for a few days to experience life on a cruising sailboat. Joel McChesney and his wife, Mary, also stopped by to say, “Hello.” Joel has been a good friend since childhood and he and Mary now live in Milwaukee. They had been following our blog site and knew we were in the area so they wanted to visit and hear about our adventure. We hope to be able to spend more time with them while we are in Milwaukee.
No baby yet.
