We spent much of the morning working on the journal entries for the blog and the Yacht Log: Gale dictated the notes he had about his days over the past three weeks while Maureen did the typing. Afterwards, Maureen stayed on the boat to do some editing and refining of the journal while Gale took off with an empty propane tank to try to find a place to have it filled. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find anyone who actually refills propane tanks – there are many places, however, where they can be exchanged. We were not interested in an exchange because the tanks for Blue Heron are the new fiberglass type – they are light and you can see through them to note the level of the liquid inside. Gale made many inquiries and stopped a few places, but ended up buying an extra steel tank when he had no luck finding a refilling station. Pretty amazing to be in a city the size of Milwaukee and unable to find propane!

Mary McChesney joined us for a sunset cruise in the harbor and a meal of grilled hamburgers after returning to anchor. It was a beautiful night and we enjoyed the company and the conversation. Gale took Mary to shore in the dinghy and walked her back to her home up the street since it was already quite dark by then.

We get our propane tank refilled at U-Haul. If you haven't already tried them, you might see if you have any luck there.

BTW, the Harvest Festival is October 3 so if that is still okay with you, we'll plan on chez Goranson that trip. Thanks!

Love,
Lisa
