It turned out that Port Washington’s harbor is protected from north, south and west winds, but an easterly wind can beat you up pretty badly. The bottom is sandy and muddy so Blue Heron would be fine unless a 20-30 mph easterly calls. Gale moved the boat to a nice anchorage near the north breakwater and went to bed early.
