As soon as the rain let up, Gale took the dinghy into shore and walked up to meet Joel at his house. Joel had offered to help him move Blue Heron to the mooring buoy at the South Shore Yacht Club. It was a rainy and windy morning, but after a few attempts the boat was finally secured to the mooring ball. Gale and Joel then took the dinghy to shore and placed her in a safe location until Maureen and Gale could return in a few days. Joel took Gale to the airport to pick up the rental car and the two of them had lunch at one of Joel’s favorite restaurants. Gale anxiously finished his Reuben sandwich and left for the long-awaited trip to Des Moines. He made it to Des Moines in about 6 hours, arriving at sunset. It was good to see everyone so happy and to meet healthy baby Jake. Maureen looked more beautiful than Gale remembered. She was wearing a colorful long dress which he thought made her look stunning. It was nice to be together again.

The photo is of Joe's sister, Rachel, with Baby Jake.
