We were up at 5 am making preparations to sail across Lake Michigan to White Lake, MI. The winds were light, the skies were clear and we all enjoyed the 75-mile crossing. At one point in the middle of the Lake our speed was only 3 mph. Since we were sailing so slowly, Gale decided to throw in a line and fish for salmon and lake trout. It wasn’t long before Bob yelled, “You have a fish on!” The reel was buzzing as the fish spooled out line. Gale played the fish for 20 minutes and when it came close to the boat, Bob netted the fish and brought it aboard. A grilled 15-pound lake trout was now tonight’s dinner menu. Later when cleaning the fish, Gale tucked the best filet safely away in the freezer to save for an evening meal with Maureen when she returns from Des Moines.

No baby yet.
