Gale remained on board for the day keeping busy with odd jobs including applying teak oil to all of the interior wood and organizing the anchor locker. For ground tackle we use 80 feet of chain and 150 feet of line tethered to a No. 16 Fortress aluminum anchor. The Fortress is our primary anchor; a Danforth, our secondary; and a Delta anchor with 250 feet of line is reserved for heavy weather. We sleep much better at night knowing our anchor is at work keeping us safe.
