Maureen had really enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with her daughter and family, Jess, Joe, JT and now Baby Jake, during this very special time. Joe’s mother, Marion, was planning to arrive this morning to spend a week helping with the new baby so it was time for us to leave to make room for Marion. While Gale was in Des Moines, Joe’s dad and Joe’s sister, Terry and Rachel, had also made a special visit over the weekend to meet the new baby. JT and Jake are very luck boys to have so many grandparents to love!
We stopped in Clear Lake for a short time to visit our parents and drop off the vehicle that Maureen had been using while in Iowa. Then it was off to Milwaukee about 2 pm, arriving there at sunset. We dinghied to Blue Heron, unloaded our luggage and stepped aboard. After settling in, we opened a bottle of wine and celebrated by toasting our reunion, our families and our new grandson.
